Santander (EFE) , has a goal and is “a decisive player.”
The player from the Ivory Coast was shown this Monday, in his official presentation, “very happy” to sign for the Cantabrian team.
And he explained, in a press conference in the Sardinero field, that, although he had several offers, the project presented to him by the Verdiblanco sports director, Mikel Martija, seemed “quite interesting” and that is why he decided on Racing de Santander.
Lago Junior also spoke with coach José Alberto, who told him how he was going to use it. “He explained to me how to play and he told me that he was going to use me on the right wing, near the striker to make a lot of diagonals. It is something new for me, but he is teaching me the movements and the way to squeeze ”, he stated.
Another factor that influenced his decision was the information he received about the Santander club from his teammates Miquel Parera and Cedric, with whom he had already met in Mallorca.
“You always have to adapt with a change, but I have found a very humble dressing room, with healthy people, and the adaptation has been very easy because I already knew five or six teammates. Cedric and Miquel Parera gave me very good information, and that is what I found ”, she pointed out.
New additions
The sports director, who accompanied the footballer at the presentation, conveyed the club’s “satisfaction” with this first signing and, with a view to future additions, pointed out that Racing does not have “a closed salary limit.”
“We plan to incorporate fewer players than last season, perhaps times will take longer, but we hope to close some in the coming days,” added Mikel Martija.
