Moscow (EFE).- At least two people residing in the Russian region of Belgorod have died this morning in an “emergency” registered on the Crimean bridge, in which a girl was injured.
As explained by the governor of Belgorod, the victims are a couple who had taken their daughter – the little wounded – to a camp in Crimea”.
For his part, the head of the Ukrainian peninsula of Crimea, annexed by Russia in 2014, reported on Monday that two explosions were heard in the vicinity of the Kerch bridge and later damage was detected on the road.
Sergei Axiónov indicated on his Telegram channel that “an emergency occurred in the area of support (pillar) 145 of the Krasnodar Territory that has forced the suspension of traffic on the Crimean bridge”
However, the Russian Ministry of Transport acknowledged that there is “damage to the road in sections of the Crimean bridge”, which links the occupied peninsula with Russia, but that the pillars are intact.
Second incident on the bridge
Media such as the Telegram channel Astra previously stated that a section of the bridge had fallen after hearing at least two explosions.
Several residents claimed to have heard these explosions around 00:04 and 00:20 GMT, according to their comments on the Russian social network VKontakte.
In October last year, five people died when a truck full of explosives exploded on the bridge, the longest in Europe at 19 kilometers and the jewel in the crown of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The explosion was described by Russia as a terrorist attack organized by Ukraine.
