Alicante (EFE).- The head of the Compromís-Add to Congress for Valencia list, Àgueda Micó, assured this Saturday in Alicante that the next legislature “will make possible a progressive and courageous government that shields the advances, laws and regulations that guarantee LGTBI rights”.
Micó has spoken like this during his participation, together with the head of the list for Alicante, Txema Guijarro, and the number two, Imma Orozco, in an action in the Alicante capital in defense of the rights of LGTBI people.
Advocates for a pact and for training on the LGTBI reality
Micó has proposed an LGTBI Pact with political forces, social agents and citizens to avoid “any institutional or political setback in this matter. We will always defend and offer our full support to the associative and social fabric that defends LGTBI rights”.
Among other measures, progress has also been made to promote specific training for the personnel of the administrations of justice and of the State security forces and bodies on the LGTBI reality, creating specialized programs to attend to complaints of LGTBI-phobic actions.
“Our land has led the advance in rights and freedoms at the regional level for the last 8 years and we have been a benchmark for the progress achieved at the state level,” Micó already underlined, as reported by the formation in a statement.
He added that the LGTBI struggle is currently facing an “enormous challenge: to face the involuntary policies of the right and the extreme right and the threats to the rights won in so many years of struggle, but also the doubts and lack of courage of the PSOE that have been demonstrated in the processing of the Trans Law.”
“Compromís-Sumar we are and we will always be together with the fight for the conquest of new rights, and we will always be together with the LGTBI fight”, he indicated to add that, for this reason, “we want to be the voice of the movement in Congress and the Senate, because we want to continue advancing in rights for everyone, because LGTBI rights are rights for everyone. We are clear that the best way to not go backwards is to keep moving forward”.
