Oviedo (EFE).- The acting president of the Principality, Adrián Barbón, reaffirmed this Wednesday his intention to provide stability to his next government, a “path that focuses directly” on IU-Call for Asturias.
Speaking to journalists after meeting with the mayor of Oviedo, Alfredo Canteli, Barbón said that the negotiations for his investiture in plenary session that will begin on July 18 are “advancing” albeit discreetly, “which is how things do they work”.
“We are taking steps to seek political stability in Asturias for the next four years,” said Barbón, who recalled that it is not just about being sworn in as president because “then laws have to be negotiated” in parliament and they have to be approved ” the most important of all”, that of the budgets of the autonomous community.
Barbón, who has guaranteed the investiture with the vote of the 19 deputies of the PSOE and the already announced support of the three from IU as he is the only candidate in a vote in which you can only vote in favor or abstain, has stated that ” In that stability, the road focuses directly on the Call for Asturias”.
Meetings with everyone except Vox
The acting president will hold “more protocol” meetings tomorrow, Thursday, with all the groups, except Vox, with the aim of “trying to make the tone of the legislature” in parliament be “respectful” and “not at all tense”.
Barbón has said that he excludes Vox because “little” can speak to a formation that denies sexist violence, although he has expressed his respect for his voters, whom he tries to convince that the “vote of anger” in this case is “A wrong vote because then it does not have an impact on improving people’s lives.”
Asked about the possibility that he will soon have to speak with a Vox minister, Barbón said that this party is “a threat” to the autonomies because it rejects the autonomous state, and for this reason he has once again bet on “a victory for the PSOE and of Pedro Sánchez” in the elections on July 23.
