Bilbao (EFE).- The unions of the Ertzaintza Erne, Esan, Euspel and Sipe have once again risen from the negotiating table with Security.
In this way, the labor conflict in the Ertzaintza became entrenched.
“We will continue with the mobilizations and protests, which we do not want,” the spokesman for the Ertzaintza union unit, Iñaki Uraga, told Efe.
The trade unionist explained that the unions “had no choice” but to get up again from the negotiating table.
As he has said, they have done so due to “the lack of responsibility” and Security’s predisposition to deal with their claims.
new meeting
The meeting, called from 10:00 a.m. at the Erandio police station (Bizkaia), lasted just over an hour and a half.
The unions, as they have assured, have abandoned it due to the “refusal” of Security to negotiate its proposal for better wages and working conditions.
This matter had been included in the agenda of the meeting at the request of the centrals.
In this way, the outcome of the meeting between unions and Security on June 23 is repeated.
On that occasion, the union representatives took only a few minutes to leave the negotiating table.
As they argued, they saw no novelties in the proposals put forward by the department.
Union criticism of Security
The union spokesman regretted after today’s meeting that “there is no way to find a way out” of the conflict.
As indicated, the negotiation “has not started and there is no willingness to start it” by Security.
The department had initially summoned the unions to discuss the modification of the List of Jobs.
This modification seeks to increase the staff of the Ertzaintza that deals with cases of gender violence, but it has not been dealt with.
The Basque Government is committed to dialogue
The spokesperson for the Basque Government, Bingen Zupiria, has spoken on this matter.
Zupiria has insisted on the Basque Government’s commitment to dialogue and negotiation to reach an agreement.
The spokesman was asked at the press conference after the Governing Council about the meeting of the Ertzaintza Bureau.
Zupiria has hoped that the dialogue can continue in the coming days to advance on the “path of the agreement.” EFE
