Oviedo (EFE).- The Asturian industry has improved its production prospects for the coming months, since 77 percent of the companies expect to maintain it and 23 percent to increase it, according to the latest monthly survey conducted by the Asturian Society of Economic and Industrial Studies (Sadei) corresponding to May.
In the previous survey, only 7 percent of the companies consulted were confident of increasing production, while 93 percent expected to maintain it.
Regarding employment, all the companies plan to maintain the current workforce, the same as in the April survey.
All the companies consulted have also opted to maintain the order book and prices, while 98 percent expect to maintain the stocks of finished products and 2 percent, increase them.
According to the companies, the insured work period was 115 days in May, one more than in April.
With all this, the Industrial Climate Indicator of Asturias (ICIA) prepared by Sadei, which synthesizes the information on all these variables, has stood at 24, one point above a year ago, “by compensating for the drop in levels of the order book with the increase in the forecast trend in production”.
