Oviedo (EFE).- The Asturian Socialist Federation and IU-Convocatoria por Asturias will intensify the meetings this week to try to reach an agreement that gives “political stability” to the government of Adrián Barbón for the next four years.
The talks between the PSOE and IU to form a possible coalition government in Asturias have been carried out “discreetly” in recent weeks and until last “without concrete progress”, as acknowledged on Friday by the acting president of the Principality, Adrián Barbon.
The Socialist spokesperson at the General Meeting, Dolores Carcedo, who together with the FSA-PSOE Organization Secretary, Gimena Llamedo, is in charge of these negotiations, has indicated that now, today or tomorrow, they will enter the negotiations “of more detailed way to see the possibilities that exist to give stability to Asturias and in what terms it is given”.
“After these contacts, now yes, we are in a position to go into detail, to delve into specific aspects that allow us to know if we can finally know what possibilities there are for that stability and in what terms we can achieve that political stability for Asturias” , has underlined.
However, he has affirmed that it is known how the negotiations begin, but that it is necessary to “walk little by little” to try to reach an agreement that he does not know if it can take place before the investiture debate of Barbón, which will begin at the General Meeting of the Principality on the 18th.
Regarding the summary document that IU-Call for Asturias has made with its main proposals, Carcedo has indicated that he is not aware that they have transferred it yet, but that they will start working on it as soon as possible. EFE
