Palma, Jul 10 (EFE).- Sumar’s candidate for the Presidency of the Government, Yolanda Díaz, criticized Vox this Monday for its proposal to close meteorological agencies, and has snapped at Santiago Abascal’s party that “it is like telling the citizens who want to cure cancer by closing hospitals”.
“The barbarians of the extreme right want to suppress the Aemet (State Meteorological Agency), a very dangerous body where they exist”, the candidate said at a rally in Palma where she has gathered some 800 people – according to the organization.
Specifically, the Vox program promises: “We will close all the organizations destined to create parallel state structures (youth councils, ombudsmen, advisory councils, meteorological agencies, cartographic…), which represent an ineffective political expense paid for by all and that They have become spokespersons for the regional government on duty”.
“They are climate lunatics,” Díaz criticized, while encouraging them to vote for his party on July 23 “to defend the planet” and “climate justice.”
The candidate has also referred to the heat wave that is plaguing the country (“it is not artifice, it is not an invention of anyone”, she has said) and has expressed her desire to be “the first green president of our country”.
And, finally, he has warned that the Balearic Islands are a place “where climate denialism can be very expensive”, for which he has censured that the new regional Executive, presented this Monday by the president, Marga Prohens ( PP), is not going to have a Department of the Environment.
