Caracas (EFE).- The president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, assured that the Caribbean nation is forging “perpetual” independence every day with “work, honor, patriotism”, on the 212th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence Act .
“We are developing perpetual independence, we are forging it with effort, with work, with honor, with patriotism and with a lot of love, with a lot of national unity, consolidating peace every day,” said the president, who led a civic parade. military, in Caracas, regarding the Independence Day in Venezuela.
Likewise, he declared to “US imperialism and to the old colonialists” the absolute desire for Venezuela to be a “free, sovereign, dignified, independent” nation.
“We will not be submissive to any empire, neither today nor ever,” he added.
“Perpetual” independence: Maduro’s message
Maduro asked to continue building cultural independence, through education, the organization of “popular power”, as well as scientific and technological independence.
“Build scientific and technological independence so as not to depend on anything or anyone, as we are doing, creating science and technology to respond to the challenges of agricultural production, health, industrial growth and development, development in all areas of Venezuelan society”, he added.
