The initiative, which will take place between July 11 and 17 under the name ‘EFE Forum 23J’, has the collaboration of Fundación la Caixa and Fundación Ortega-Marañón. Its purpose is “to contribute to accurate and direct information for the public on the specific proposals of these parties in four key areas, as befits the Agency’s obligation and vocation for public service,” according to the president of EFE, Gabriela Cañas. .
Each debate will be structured around four axes and will be broadcast live in its entirety to subscribers through EFE channels, and to the public via YouTube and social networks.
Primer debate
The first debate will be held next Tuesday, July 11, at CaixaForum Madrid, and will focus on the environmental challenges facing Spain, particularly water management, the transition to renewable energy, mobility problems and emissions in the urban centers and the fight against climate change.
second debate
The second of the debates will take place the following day, July 12, at the headquarters of the European Parliament in Strasbourg (France), coinciding with the monthly plenary session of the European Parliament, and will be devoted to Spain’s foreign policy in the context of the European Union, just inaugurated the semester of the Spanish presidency of the Council of the EU.
The four participating MEPs will respond in the debate to questions related to Ukraine and Russian aggression, Spanish policy regarding Morocco, immigration regulation and the relationship with Latin America after the political changes taking place on that continent.
third discussion
The third debate will take place on Thursday, July 13, at the headquarters of the Ortega-Marañón Foundation, in Madrid, and will revolve around the progress of the economy and social proposals. The political representatives will confront the measures that their parties propose in relation to the increase in the cost of living, access to housing and the rise in mortgages, the fight against unemployment and budgetary and fiscal policy.
fourth discussion
The fourth and last debate, on equality policies, will be held on Monday, July 17, also at CaixaForum Madrid, and will examine how to eradicate violence against women, what response to give to the demands of the LGTBIQ+ collective and how to achieve effective equality in education and in employment.
