Madrid (EFE).- Correos has recommended that citizens who wish to vote by mail in the July 23 elections not wait for the last day to deposit their ballots at post offices, given the increase in the number of requests that exceeds and the million and a half requests on the occasion of the holiday period.
This was reflected by the entity in a press release this Tuesday, in which it recalled that the deadlines for requesting a vote by mail and depositing electoral documentation end on July 13 and 20, respectively.
In the statement, he urged voters to take advantage of the extended hours at post offices where a greater influx is expected to carry out these procedures in advance.
Correos has reported an “unprecedented” hiring of reinforcements for offices and delivery of shipments, especially in tourist areas, in addition to extraordinary openings on non-working days and distribution of documentation during weekends, if required by the needs of the population.
In this sense, the branch network has 533 digital terminals to serve users more quickly in the areas with the greatest influx and in more than 500 branches the use of prior appointments has been implemented to channel procedures to posts and reduce waiting times.
Correos has recalled that before the shipment of electoral documentation begins this Monday, July 3, for those who have already requested it, it is possible to request that the envelopes and ballots be forwarded to another address or post office.
