Madrid (EFE).- The National Police arrested a 58-year-old man early this Tuesday afternoon as the alleged perpetrator of the stabbing crime against the owner of the Vistebien professional uniforms store, which occurred yesterday Monday in the Tirso de Molina square in Madrid.
The arrest took place at around 4:00 p.m. on Atocha street in the capital, a few hundred meters from the scene of the crime, where a 56-year-old woman allegedly related to the events was also arrested, since could have accompanied the murderer during or after committing the deadly robbery.
The perpetrators of the crime of Tirso de Molina have a history of robbery with violence
Both are Spanish and have a history of robbery with violence, like the one attributed to them in this case, since they took an undetermined amount of money after the merchant was stabbed, police sources have informed EFE.
Homicide Group V, in charge of the investigation, managed to identify the perpetrator and his companion thanks to the evidence collected during the hours after the events, including the recordings of the video surveillance cameras of the store itself and of its surroundings.
After 1:15 p.m. this Monday, an individual carrying a knife approached the owner of the historic Vistebien store inside the establishment, who was about to close lunchtime.
The agents are investigating whether the merchant resisted being robbed, which caused the assailant to stab her several times, at least one in the abdomen.
The murderer fled the place, where the first policemen who control the Tirso de Molina square quickly arrived due to the numerous incidents that take place there.
The victim went into cardiorespiratory arrest shortly after, which despite cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers by the agents and the Samur-Civil Protection personnel could not be reversed and confirmed his death.
That of this merchant was the third homicide that occurred in the Community of Madrid from midnight on Sunday to Monday.
