Pamplona (EFE).- The Civil Guard has arrested a 42-year-old man from Bilbao at a checkpoint on the AP-15, prior to Sanfermines, who has already entered prison. He is accused of a crime against public health for drug trafficking by carrying 40 kilos of speed on the dashboard of his vehicle.
It was the Citizen Security Unit (USECIC) of the Civil Guard in the Foral Community of Navarra that, as part of its preventive work, stopped a vehicle at a citizen security control at the Zuasti tollbooth. At the moment of asking the driver where he was going, he showed some nervousness that made the agents suspicious.
An inspection was carried out on the vehicle with a dog from the Cynological Service, named Fox. It was the animal that marked the presence of narcotic substances on the dashboard of the vehicle.
The drug was in a double bottom
The agents carried out an inspection, in which they located an access to a double bottom or “cove” (hiding places used to transport drugs). In it, the detainee was transporting 20 packages of approximately two kilograms of speed each, with a total weight of 40 kilos.
Due to these facts, a man was brought before the courts, as the alleged perpetrator of a crime against public health (drug trafficking) and the intervention of 40 kilos of speed prepared for distribution and sale, in addition to the vehicle he was using. to transport it.
The proceedings reached Court number 4 of Pamplona, which ordered the detainee’s admission to prison.
