Seville (EFE).- Facua-Consumers in Action has filed complaints against Twitter before the authorities for the protection of consumers and digital services after modifying the conditions of its services this Sunday without prior notification to users.
Users have found that the social network has begun to limit the number of tweets they could read, a decision that affects differently depending on whether or not they have contracted the Twitter Blue payment service and whether it is an account created as of yesterday.
The association has transferred the facts to the General Directorate of Consumption and the Secretary of State for Digitization and Artificial Intelligence of the Ministries of Consumption and Economy, respectively.
It argues that Twitter does not immediately restore the conditions prior to this modification to all paying users and that they have the right to terminate the contracts with the refund of the amount proportional to the duration of the service that they have not yet consumed.
The legislation -remember- establishes that any change in the contractual conditions must be notified to consumers with reasonable notice.
In addition, the notification must be produced in a durable medium, that is, by email, SMS or a downloadable file that shows the web or the application when you are “logged in”.
