Madrid, Jul 3 (EFE)
The first of the events happened at dawn, around 12:45 a.m., when several homeless people who spend the night under the bridge on Calle Pedro Bosch in the capital were having a discussion.
It was a Romanian couple and two other men of the same nationality, the alleged perpetrators of the fire, who after arguing set fire to the room they shared.
In order to put out the fire, the City Council firefighters had to access the place through a small hole in the side wall of the bridge. The fire affected an area full of belongings and debris.
The 42-year-old woman was unable to escape the flames and has died, according to sources from the National Police, who have arrested the two alleged perpetrators: one of them was undocumented and the other is 36 years old.
The second homicide has taken place in Alcalá de Henares, where the National Police have arrested a 25-year-old young man who had allegedly ended the life of a 53-year-old woman whom he strangled after having an argument.
The event took place at the victim’s home, on Batanes street in the municipality of Alcala, and the Homicide Group VI is investigating the relationship that existed between the woman, a Spanish national, and the arrested man, who told the agents that they were friends .
There were no previous complaints between them and they had no prior records either.
It was the young man himself who, around midnight on Sunday, called 091 to report the event.
Upon arriving at the home, the agents found the woman with signs of strangulation and with no possibility of being resuscitated, so the Summa 112 toilets could only confirm her death.
The young man told the police that he had ended the woman’s life in the course of an argument between the two and using the mataleón technique, typical of martial arts and which consists of strangling the victim from behind.
Finally, around 1:15 p.m., a 61-year-old woman was stabbed to death inside the clothing store she ran in Madrid’s Plaza de Tirso de Molina, in the downtown district of the capital.
In broad daylight, a man has stabbed several times – at least one in the abdomen – to the woman, María de los Ángeles, owner of the historic Vistebien work uniform store, allegedly after entering the establishment to rob minutes before to close at noon.
The National Police is now focused on locating the perpetrator, who, as he left the store with his bloody checkered shirt, ran into a merchant from the Lavapiés neighborhood, according to what the witness himself told EFE, who prefers to keep the anonymity.
Agents of the National Police who usually control the Tirso de Molina square due to the usual incidents that occur there, have been the first to help the victim, who shortly after has gone into cardiorespiratory arrest; The Samur-Protection toilets have continued with the work, but have had to confirm her death.
The Homicide Group VI has taken charge of the investigation and its members, together with those of the Scientific Police, have gone to the scene of the crime to collect evidence that may lead them to clarify what happened, including the recordings of the video surveillance cameras that the business had.
