Elon Musk, owner of Twitter, said this Saturday that the social network has imposed temporary limits on the reading of tweets (posts) to avoid “extreme levels of data extraction and manipulation of the system.”
As initially indicated in his account, verified accounts will be able to read a maximum of “6,000 posts (tweets) a day”, while unverified ones will only be able to read 600, and “new unverified accounts” even less, 300.
Musk backtracks on his Twitter message limit
Within hours, Musk backtracked a couple of times, increasing the limits to 10,000 tweets for verified accounts, 1,000 for unverified accounts, and 500 for new unverified accounts.
In Spain, social networks have not been slow to show the rejection of their users and thus Pablo Echenique (We can) has been one of the first to respond to this ad: “Trumpist and sociopathic billionaire Elon Musk has decided to save money on servers by limiting the number of tweets you can see per day even if it means breaking the toy.”
Other messages from users predict its “decline and end”. “This application is in total decline”; “Everything turned into a pure business! Twittenic sinks… and with it… Elon Musk”; or “This RRSS has begun to die with the new restrictions and limitations”, are some examples.
Some users have also left a multitude of memes and images on the social network where you can see the traditional Twitter icon (a blue bird) drawn on tombstones.
