Seville, (EFE).- The president of the Junta de Andalucía, Juanma Moreno, announced this Friday that his government will extend the 60 percent discount on public transport in the community for another six months, so it will be in force until December 31.
Bus, metro and tram users will continue to opt for this discount on the price of the trip for another six months using the Consorcio card and metro vouchers.
Since January 2023, Andalusia applied an additional discount of 50% on public transport, although as of April the regional administration assumed an additional 10% to achieve a reduction of up to 60% as had been negotiated with social and economic agents (30 % of the Junta de Andalucía and 30% of the State).
About 20 million euros
The estimated cost during this period of six more months is about 20 million euros for the regional administration, the Junta de Andalucía has reported.
This bonus is included in the Social and Economic Pact for the Promotion of Andalusia signed by the regional administration with the Andalusian Business Confederation (CEA) and the UGT-A and CCOO-A unions.
Moreno has defended on Twitter that the executive he presides favors “sustainable mobility.”
This bonus is added to the discounts that the Consorcio card has offered for years and permanently, ranging between 30 and 40 percent, as well as the advantages that the Youth Transport Card has offered for a year and a half, with discounts of at least 50% of the price of the single ticket for Andalusians under 30 years of age.
With the Consorcio card, for example, a trip by metropolitan bus between Seville and Carmona, which costs 2.9 euros with a single ticket goes to 0.89 euros; and a trip between Ayamonte and Huelva –one of the longest journeys in the Huelva Coast area– costs 1.57 euros, when a single ticket costs 5.35 euros.
reduced rates
Journeys between Córdoba capital and La Carlota cost 80 cents with the new discounts, when with a single ticket it cost the user three euros; and bus trips will continue at 42 cents from any town in the first metropolitan area with Granada capital.
The Granada Metro 30-day Pass will continue to cost 16 euros, compared to the 40 euros it cost before; the Plus 45 in Seville with two jumps continues with the reduced rate of 20 euros compared to 50 euros; o The trip with the Málaga suburban card continues to be reduced from 0.82 to 0.33 euros. EFE
