Haro (La Rioja), (EFE) of “weapons” from very early.
The surroundings of the Riscos de Bilibio hermitage, located about 6 kilometers from Haro, have been stained with wine since early this morning, when several thousand people dressed in white and with the traditional red scarf began the battle before of the traditional mass that is supposed to precede the launch of the wine.
This year’s Wine Battle, which has passed without incident, has had the usual “weapons”, such as water guns, buckets, bottles and, some, have directly poured the cartons of wine on the participants, who have finish dyed in its characteristic colour.
The “battlers” of this edition, to which the Haro City Council has contributed 8,000 liters of wine, have made a pilgrimage, some on foot, others in buses and private cars, to the Riscos de Bilibio, many of them without rest after a night out.
