This compensation will consist of 23 days with 13 monthly payments, as explained by the unions after the new meeting with the management on the future of the pantyhose and lingerie textile firm located in the Castellón town of Vilafranca.
Bankruptcy, in mid-July
The company will present the bankruptcy in mid-July, according to union sources.
The ERE Negotiating Commission has thanked the “massive” participation in the assembly held this Wednesday and in all the actions that the unions and “a whole people” like Vilafranca have undertaken. The unions have indicated that they will continue to seek a solution for the Marie Claire factory.
They have also pointed out that the workers’ assembly has “massively” supported the agreement that has been signed and that it had been submitted for approval.
Three months in ERTE
It agrees that a minimum staff of 72 people in Vilafranca and 33 in the rest of Spain will continue in ERTE for three months, with the possibility of agreeing on an additional extension of 3 more months within the contest that the company is going to present in mid-July.
An indemnity of 23 days to 13 months has also been agreed and “unfortunately” for the 190 people who “are going to be fired from the company.”
Look for alternatives
The unions have shown their willingness to “continue fighting to find alternatives to the Marie Claire factory”, as well as an industrial plan for the Ports region.
They will continue “demanding real responses from the new administration to fight against the depopulation of inland areas.”
The company has committed to the commission to open the store to the public and for the moment no new meetings between the parties are contemplated, as CCOO sources have explained to EFE.

On May 30, the management of Marie Claire issued a statement -the only public statement it has made during the entire process- in which it explained that it is carrying out negotiations with its main creditors and actively searching for investors interested in support the brand relaunch project.
The century-old company was founded in 1907 in Vilafranca del Cid, in the depopulated Castellon district of Els Ports.
