Huelva, June 27 (EFE).- El Granado, a municipality of barely 500 inhabitants in the Andévalo region of Huelva, has registered the highest temperature in Spain for three consecutive days with values that have not dropped below 43 degrees.
In this way, on Monday, at 4:10 p.m., 44.4 degrees were reached in the municipality, being the day with the highest temperature after the 43.8 that the thermometer indicated on Sunday and the 42.7 on Saturday.
It is not the first time, however, that El Granado has held this record, since in 2018 it reached 46.6 degrees Celsius.
Its inhabitants are experiencing the heat wave in its maximum harshness and they bear it as best they can making use of cool areas, not going out at the central hours of the day, and pulling, as it could not be less, fans and air conditioners, and pool.
For this Tuesday, temperatures will continue to be very high, although forecasts suggest that the maximum will be 41 degrees, 4.4 below the maximum recorded.
Death by heat in Aznalcóllar
On the other hand, the Andalusian Government has expressed its condolences on Tuesday for the death of a farmer in Aznalcóllar (Seville) due to the heat wave. And he has asked citizens to be careful and to comply with the health recommendations.
The spokesman for the Executive, Ramón Fernández-Pacheco, said at a press conference after the Governing Council that it is necessary to “protect oneself”, especially the most vulnerable, who are the elderly and children, in the face of this “terrible” heat wave .
He recalled that “we are going through the worst of the heat wave”, since the maximums have reached 44 degrees.
For the moment, the death of a 47-year-old farmer, victim of a heat stroke while plowing a field, is the only one registered in Andalusia due to the heat wave.
A 47-year-old farmer died last Saturday in Aznalcóllar (Seville) victim of a heat stroke that occurred when he was plowing a field. EFE
