London (EFE).- The Spanish tennis player Carlos Alcaraz beat the Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov (6-4 and 6-4) and will play his first semifinals at Queen’s.
Carlos Alcaraz is already in a favorite position, to see himself a candidate for everything. He resounded against Grigor Dimitrov (6-4 and 6-4) to continue winning integers on grass and maintain his pristine record in the quarterfinals: of the last eight he has played, he has won all eight.
“I’m ready for battle,” said the Spaniard after the pre-game warm-up at Queen’s. His confidence level has been rising since landing in London and expectations of him are now high.
Alcaraz flowed against Dimitrov, he added four games in a row, he was close but he hesitated and the Bulgarian took advantage of the opportunity but it did not last long. Alcaraz sentenced the match and will play the twenty-second semifinals of his career, the eighth of the year, and the first at Queen’s.
His rival in the semifinals will be Sebastian Korda, who beat Cameron Norrie in two sets, and with whom he has faced three times. Alcaraz beat him in the ‘Next Gen Finals’ and at Roland Garros 2022 and the American triumphed in Monte Carlo 2022. With this victory, Alcaraz is two games away from regaining number one, currently in possession of Novak Djokovic.
