According to UGT sources consulted by EFE, the new day of protests, the second this week after the partial strikes on Tuesday, is causing the closure of the vast majority of the H&M group stores -H&M, COS, Other Stories and Weekday- in Spain, which will remain closed throughout the day.
Specifically, in Madrid 25 of the 26 stores that the Swedish fashion chain has are closed, while in other communities such as Murcia no establishment has been able to open.
According to UGT, the company has tried to open the emblematic store on Gran Vía 32, in Madrid, where one of the concentrations planned by the unions has been held, but has finally given up due to the lack of personnel.
“Resounding success” of the call
For its part, CCOO, the majority union with a representation of more than 50%, has celebrated the “resounding success” of the call on the Twitter account of its Madrid Services Federation and warns that they will continue protesting until better negotiations are done. conditions and reduce the workload.
The first day of the 24-hour strike occurs after the failure of the negotiation table convened in SIMA with representatives of the company and the unions on Monday, who demand improvements in the working and salary conditions of the nearly 4,000 employees of the group Swedish.
The next call, also for 24 hours, is scheduled for next Monday, and at the moment there are no plans to cancel it, since “there is no progress” in the negotiations with the company, as explained by the UGT.
The unions denounced last Tuesday that the proposals launched by the company at the SIMA meeting were still “insufficient and very imprecise” in relation to sales incentives, the responsibility bonus or the salary supplement in cases of leave due to disease.

For its part, H&M assured in this regard in a note that it had presented a package of measures to the social part “that satisfies the identified needs”.
Likewise, it proposed an increase in the effective resources in the store through definitive extensions of hours in part-time contracts and more contracts and a higher remuneration through a flexible system based on the achievement of objectives.
The concentrations have been called in stores in Galicia (Pontevedra, Vigo, A Coruña and Santiago), Asturias (Siero), Andalusia (Seville and Malaga), Castilla-La Mancha (Ciudad Real), Valencian Community (Valencia and Alicante), Catalonia (Barcelona) and the Balearic Islands, among others.
