Santander (EFE).- The PP will propose its regional secretary, María José González Revuelta, as the next president of the Parliament of Cantabria, which is set up this Thursday.
According to what PP sources have informed EFE, after the contacts maintained, the majority of the parliamentary groups have shown their willingness for the candidate from the most voted list to preside over the Chamber.
For this reason, the party led by María José Saénz de Buruaga has trusted that González Revuelta will be elected in the Constitution plenary session of Parliament.
The regional secretary of the PP will replace Joaquín Gómez (PSOE), after being the second vice president of the Chamber during the last legislature.
Who is González Revuelta?
María José González Revuelta (1972) has a degree in Economics and Business Administration from the University of Cantabria
Between 1998 and 2007 he worked in the Accounting Department of the Montemar-Eexpoger company and, later, until 2011, in the administrative department of the PP of Cantabria.
He has been councilor for Sustainable Mobility in the Santander City Council between 2011 and 2014, as well as manager of the Cantabrian Foundation for Health and Social Welfare, and the Valdecilla Foundation until 2015.
She has also been president of Cantabria Fondos SA, Collective Investment Institutions Management Company (Caja Cantabria Group), member of the Board of Directors of Puntida, SLU (Caja Cantabria Group), and director of the Gran Casino del Sardinero.
She has been a member of the Regional Executive Committee of the PP since 2004, the party’s regional secretary since 2017 and a deputy in Parliament during the last legislature, in which she was also second vice president of Parliament and secretary of the Permanent Deputation.
