Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (EFE).- The airline Binter has ordered six new units of the E195-E2 aircraft from the Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer, which will allow it to increase the fleet of this model to 16 aircraft.
These devices will be added to the five incorporated as of 2019 and the other five acquired in December 2022 and that will begin to arrive this year.
The airline and the manufacturer have made this announcement within the framework of the International Aeronautics and Space Show, which is being held these days in Paris and which brings together the main players in the world industry in the sector.
The president of Binter, Rodolfo Núñez, has highlighted in a statement the change that the use of the E195-E2 has brought about in the company’s operations.
“It is an aircraft that is highly appreciated by passengers, especially for the comfort and its features on board and for how quiet it is. In addition, it allows us to continue advancing in our firm commitment to reduce CO2 emissions, so it is perfect for the growth of our company ”, he referred.
Martyn Holmes, CCO Embraer Commercial Aviation, has assured that “the best orders are those that are repeated, and this is the fourth E2 order from Binter”.
Binter’s vice president, Alfredo Morales, explained that “the agreement reached will mean an investment of more than 500 million dollars for Binter” and specified that “the new aircraft will begin to arrive from August 2024, with deliveries extending until the first semester of 2025”.
With this new acquisition, the airline will have 16 Embraer E195-E2 aircraft by 2025.
Binter was the first European airline to fly with this model, which is perfectly adapted to its operation on national routes outside the Canary Islands, European and African routes with a longer radius.
The E195-E2 is the largest and most modern aircraft in the E-Jet E2 family of medium-range twin-engine commercial jets, and they have been ordered in the same special 132-seat, single-class configuration, allowing for comfortable distance between the rows of 79 centimeters.
The interior of the E2 is a benchmark in the aviation industry thanks to its 2+2 seating configuration, with no middle seat, and its upper compartment can be adapted to accommodate up to one hand luggage per passenger, doubling the capacity of the jets. conventional regionals.
The E-Jets E2 are single-aisle jets that stand out for their noise reduction and for being clean and efficient, offering significant improvements, not only in terms of fuel consumption, but also in maintenance costs, the statement added. EFE
