Moscow (EFE).- The delegation of African leaders, who met this Friday with the Ukrainian president, Volodímir Zelenski, has already arrived in Saint Petersburg to meet with the Russian leader, Vladimir Putin.
As Anton Kobiakov, an adviser to the Russian president, told the media, “six African leaders have arrived in St. Petersburg to meet with the president (Putin).”
For his part, another adviser to the Russian leader has assured that the Kremlin still does not know the content of the peace initiative that the African delegation plans to present. “They haven’t sent it to us,” he said.
In any case, the proposals of African leaders will be discussed with the head of the Kremlin in a meeting that Moscow considers “very important,” he stressed.
Suspend Putin’s arrest warrant
Zelensky on Friday called for the Russian withdrawal to achieve a “true and just peace”, after meeting in kyiv with the delegation of African leaders headed by South African President Cyril Ramaphosa.
“It is obvious that the cessation of Russian terror and the withdrawal of all its people from the territory of Ukraine is what can stop this war,” he wrote on his Telegram channel.
This Saturday, the advisor to the Ukrainian presidential office, Mikhailo Podolyak, pointed out that in his opinion, the African mission only visited Kiev to request the suspension of the arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC) against the Russian president, Vladimir Putin.
“There is a point that worries them and for which, I think, they came. Trust comes in small steps: ‘And let’s make one of the points suspend the ICC warrant issued for Putin’s arrest. Then we will move on to the following points ‘… Naturally, all the other points do not interest anyone, ”he said, quoted by the Unian agency.
In addition, he stressed that, for the moment, the only real plan to end the war is the one represented by the Ukrainian peace formula, while the rest are different variants of capitulation.
