Ourense, Jun 17 (EFE).- Gonzalo Pérez Jacome (DO) was sworn in as the new mayor of Ourense this Saturday, as he was the list with the most votes, after weeks of secrecy and negotiations between the other parties -PP, PSdeG and BNG- that they have not reached an agreement that seemed impossible.
Finally, there were no surprises in the plenary session, marked by expectation, with more than a dozen accredited media. Each party voted for itself, except the BNG, which supported the PSOE, although they did not have a majority.
Jácome obtained ten supports, as the most voted list, ten also obtained the PSOE, after the support of the BNG; and the PP, which voted for itself, got 7 votes.
In this way, Pérez Jácome was proclaimed mayor as there was not a sufficient alternative majority.
In the last few hours, moreover, an investiture agreement was revealed whereby the PP and Democracia Ourensana would vote for themselves both in the Ourense City Council and in the Provincial Council, which would guarantee the investiture of both in each institution, as the lists are more voted.
This agreement comes after days of negotiations by Pérez Jácome with the PSdeG and also with the PPdeG, after Manuel Baltar (PP) resigned a few days ago to try to repeat as head of the Provincial Council.
