La Frontera (El Hierro) (EFE).- Carlos Brito, from Asamblea Herreña, took office this Saturday as mayor of Valverde after the agreement reached with the Agrupación Herreña Independiente, which allows him to hold an absolute majority.
The corporation will have 3 PSOE councilors and 2 PP councilors in the opposition.
During his inauguration, Brito thanked the residents of Valverde for the trust placed in his candidacy and promised to develop a government that responds to the needs of all citizens of the capital inherits.
For his part, Juan Pedro Sánchez (AHI), explained that his group participates in this government agreement to grant stability, obeying the popular mandate, which mostly expressed their desire that Carlos Brito be the next mayor of Valverde.
In La Frontera, Pablo Rodríguez (AHI-UF) became mayor after obtaining an absolute majority of six of the 11 councilors that make up this municipal corporation from El Hierro on May 28, in an electoral coalition between the Agrupación Herreña Independiente (AHI) and Union Frontera (UF).
The Corporation will have 2 PSOE councilors, 2 PP councilors and 1 Asamblea Herreña councilor in the opposition.
The socialist Miguel Ángel Acosta, after two legislatures at the head of the City Council, did not take office, after his resignation from the act of councilor as a result of the electoral results of last May 28.
The spokeswoman for the opposition in the consistory will fall on Mercedes Álvarez, second on the electoral list of the PSOE in the Municipality of La Frontera.
Juan Miguel Padrón (PSOE), revalidates for the third legislature the absolute majority in the El Pinar City Council, with five of the 9 councilors that make up the municipal corporation.
The Corporation will count in the opposition with 2 councilors of the PP, 1 councilor of the Herreña Assembly and 1 councilor of AHI.
The leader of the Agrupación Herreña Independiente (AHI) and elected councilor of the Cabildo de El Hierro, Javier Armas, has taken office as councilor in this municipal corporation, and will also do so on June 26, as president of the Cabildo de El Hierro, being the head of the list, of the most voted list in the insular institution.
