Valencia (EFE).- The painter María Jesús de Frutos, the gallery owners David Bardía and Carlos Teixidó, the psychiatrist Marián Rojas Estapé and the designer Paloma Cuevas, among others, have been awarded this Tuesday in Benifaiò (Valencia) with the medals of Mayte Spínola gold granted by the group for Art and Culture.
This entity has awarded them for their outstanding work in the field of science, arts, sports and solidarity during the year 2022.
International dissemination of art
Julia Sáez-Angulo, spokesperson for the organizing group, after thanking the host Antonio Sánchez de León y Cotoner for giving up the venue for the event, the Masía de San Antonio, praised the work of the winners in the seventh edition and recalled “the activity of diffusion of art and promotion of the group’s artists in museums and palace collections in Spain, Bulgaria, Argentina, Germany, Austria, Switzerland… and in the near future, in Portugal and Belgium”.
The winners, who have also received a painting by the painter Mayte Spínola and an NFT made by Pedro Sandoval, president of the Grupo pro Arte y Cultura, include Catalina de Habsburgo (Literature); Esher Monterrubio (diplomatic career); Carmen Giménez (Fine Arts); François de Orleans (Landscaping); Ramón López Vilas (Right); Ricardo Gómez Barreda (Tax Law); Juan López Quiles (Medicine), and Alicia Viladomat (Dissemination of her artistic family).
Also included are Miguel Mas (Jewelry and design); Inma Merino (Painting); José María Fayos (Portrait); Rogelio Sánchez Molero (poetry); Silvia Lodares (Gastronomy); Astrid Misrahi (Philanthropy); Marisa Nufrío (Solidarity); Father José Luis Sánchez (Sustainable Development); María Moreno (Altruism); Paco Arango (Solidarity); Elías López Montero (Oenology); Morante de la Puebla (Bullfighting); Esperanza Terán (textile design), and Álvaro Pérez from Madrid (film producer).
The world of journalism has been represented in the Mayte Spínola medals by the Venezuelan Miguel Henrique Otero, director of the newspaper El Nacional, in an act where Santos Blanco (film director); Antonio Sánchez de León (philanthropy); Antonieta Jurado Blanco (Humanism); Cardinal Marcelo Spínola (Journalism, founder of El Correo de Andalucía), in memoriam; Carlos Moreno (creator of the NFT digital platform); Manuel Alfonso Jurado (best young Symphony Orchestra Conductor), and José Martínez (best digital creator of the year).
“An indescribable satisfaction”
The Segovian painter María Jesús de Frutos, gold medalist for her artistic career, said on behalf of all the winners that the Mayte Spínola gold medal represents “indescribable satisfaction and -above all- an impulse that encourages us to continue forward”.
“Thanks to Mayte Spínola, patron, painter of indisputable success and tireless worker for raising art to the level that society needs. Thank you for recognizing art in its different facets. For being the channel that allows us to show in our work the beauty of life and the impact it has on us, so that it can be interpreted by all the others”, added De Frutos in his speech.
At the end of the Gala, the Austrian pianist and music composer Lidia Sampson received the 2022 Monica Lavino-Mariani International Award, in its third edition. EFE
