Homme made this announcement in an interview with the specialized magazine Revolver, in which he did not want to give many more details.
The also co-founder of Eagles of Death Metal did explain that he is still undergoing treatment and with the confidence to finish overcoming the disease, according to US media reports on Tuesday.
“I will remember it as something screwed up, but it will have made me better (…) There are many things I want to do and many people I want to do them with,” said the artist, who recently turned 50, in statements to Revolver.
In addition, Homme referred to cancer as “the icing on the cake of an interesting period” because in recent years he has also had a legal dispute with his ex-wife, singer-songwriter and guitarist Brody Dalle, for custody of their three children after ending a dispute in 2019. stormy relationship in which both have been accused of physical abuse.
“They have been the darkest four years of my life (…). I will consider my new life based on all those pieces,” Homme said.

Homme and Dalle are waiting for a new hearing scheduled for the end of this year in which a judge will rule again on the custody of their three children.
