Madrid (EFE).- As of today some 500,000 young people, those born in 2005, will be able to request the Youth Cultural Bonus, the 400-euro wallet card, to spend on products, services and cultural activities.
To apply, as the Ministry of Culture has recalled today, young people who have turned or are going to turn 18 in 2023 must register and complete the application procedure on the website www.bonoculturajoven.gob.es until the next 30 September.
But to obtain this service, it will be essential that, previously, the interested parties obtain one of these three forms of digital identification: (email protected) with basic registration (which can be requested and obtained by video call), (email protected) with advanced registration (of face-to-face and for those who have not yet turned 18) or the digital Certificate.
Young people interested in applying for the Youth Cultural Voucher can carry out the process personally or through the representation of an adult, for which it is necessary to attach the downloadable representation form on the website, correctly signed by the beneficiary and representative.
In these cases, Culture has recalled, the family book is not a document accrediting the representation.
In addition to 18-year-olds born in Spain, those who have legal residence, asylum seekers, temporarily displaced persons or former wards are entitled to this programme. Hence, according to the National Statistics Institute, there are some 500,000 potential beneficiaries throughout the country.
One year to use the 400 euros
From the granting of the aid, young people have one year to use the 400 euros in cultural products or services in participating establishments, which already exceed 3,000 throughout Spain.
Once the Youth Cultural Bonus has been granted, it works with a prepaid card that the beneficiary can have virtually on his mobile or receive physically at his home.
Thus, as in the previous edition, the 400 euros are divided into three sections: 100 euros for physical products, for example, books, newspapers or records; 100 euros for digital products, such as digital press, podcasts or online video games; and 200 euros for performing arts: theatre, opera, cinema, dance, museums or bullfighting.
In 2022, the first year of validity of this initiative, a total of 277,554 people throughout Spain obtained the Youth Cultural Bonus.
