The new director general of Civil Protection and Emergencies of the Ministry of the Interior joined the center in 1991 as technical advisor for Technological Risks. In 1994 he was appointed deputy general director of Plans and Operations, a position he held until 2004.
His second stage in the General Directorate of Civil Protection and Emergencies began in 2015, when he was appointed Director of Operations and Emergencies. In 2017, he assumed the position of deputy general director of Prevention, Planning and Emergencies, a responsibility that he has held until this Tuesday.
Within the General State Administration, he has held other positions, such as director of the National Center for Environmental Health of the Carlos III Health Institute or deputy director general of Crisis Management of the Department of Infrastructure and Monitoring of Crisis Situations of the Presidency of the Government .
