Vitoria, (EFE).- The strike at the Michelin plant in Vitoria has stopped production for the third day, with support of more than 90%.
This is the third day of strike in the largest factory that the company has in Spain, with about 3,500 workers.
This strike takes place after the inter-centre committee unanimously rejected the proposal for renewal of the collective agreement presented by the company.
He also urged the company to continue with the negotiation or they will carry out 24-hour strikes on June 19 and 23 at all plants.
In addition, he showed his support for the strikes today and next Monday in Vitoria.
Cycling ride from the factory
Today a cycling march was held from the factory in which several hundred people participated.
At the end, a manifesto was read in which the unions expressed their “pride” for following the strike and for the message of “unity and struggle”.
They have welcomed the agreement reached within the inter-centre committee and have urged the company to “substantially” improve its offer.

Insufficient company proposal
The salary increases offered by the company are 5% for this year, 3% for 2024, 2% in 2025 and another 2% in 2026.
In addition, there is a clause that would allow another 2% increase every two years if the CPI increased above these increases. This review would be capped at 10% in the first two years and 8% in the second two.
The unions reject the latest proposal from the multinational by not referencing wage increases to the CPI.
In addition, they demand the reduction of the working day. Specifically, that the eight annual hours of “development days” are computed within it and do not have to be done during the workers’ days off.
Another of the differences involves the demand for the elimination of the entry salary from the agreement so that there is no double salary scale in the company. EFE
