Madrid (EFE).- Enagás has begun the binding phase of the capacity allocation process for logistics services at the El Musel (Gijón) liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal, after the interest shown by up to 16 trading companies during the first phase , not binding.
The interested marketing companies will have until June 30 to present their offers for the capacity offered in the regasification plant, the date on which this second phase will end, in this binding case, as explained on Monday by the manager of the Spanish gas system in a release.
In the first non-binding phase, which was open between March 6 and 26, Enagás received interest from a total of 16 trading companies.
After the end of the second phase term, long-term logistics services will be assigned, including LNG unloading, storage and loading operations.
The start-up of the Gijón terminal, included in the More Energy Security Plan (+SE) approved by the Government, will make it possible to reinforce the security of energy supply in Europe.
It is estimated that the regasification plant will provide up to 8 bcm (8,000 million cubic meters) of LNG to Europe, thanks to the two 150,000-cubic-meter storage capacity tanks that it incorporates, which will allow ships of between 50,000 and 266,000 meters to dock. cubic. EFE
