Santa Cruz de Tenerife, May 31 (EFE) electoral convocation decree.
The constitutive session of the Parliament of the eleventh legislature will be held on June 27 at 11:00 a.m., as established in the electoral summons decree. That day the president of Parliament and the composition of the Bureau will be elected.
From that date, there is a period of up to ten days to hold the investiture session, that is, until July 7 at the latest, just the day the campaign for the general elections begins on Sunday, July 23.
The candidate will need the support of the absolute majority of Parliament in a first vote, that is, at least 36 deputies. In case of not reaching it, a new vote would be called after 48 hours, in which a simple majority would be sufficient.
If there were no investiture either, new proposals would be processed and if Parliament continued without investing any candidate within two months of the first vote, which would take place in the first week of September, the autonomous Chamber would be automatically dissolved and new ones would be called. elections.
The PSOE is the winner of the elections in votes and seats in the Canary Islands, but far from the absolute majority. The socialist leader and current president, Ángel Víctor Torres, does not rule out trying to form pacts and even head a minority government.
But there is more chance that the majority will articulate around the Canary Islands Coalition, led by Fernando Clavijo, with the eventual support of the Popular Party, the Gomera Socialist Group and the Independent Herreña Group. These four parties would have an absolute majority, although the negotiations have just begun and there may be other combinations. EFE
