Madrid (EFE).- Victims of gender violence increased by 8.3% in 2022 compared to the previous year, with 32,644 women having some precautionary measure or protection order for ill-treatment inflicted on them by their partners or ex-partners , according to data published this Wednesday by the National Institute of Statistics (INE).
This count includes all acts of physical or psychological violence, including attacks on sexual freedom, threats, coercion or arbitrary deprivation of liberty, that have been inflicted against a woman by the man who is or has been your partner or ex-partner.
In 2022, 1,376 minors also suffered this scourge, according to the Statistics on Domestic Violence and Gender Violence prepared by the INE with data from the Central Registry for the Protection of Victims of Domestic and Gender Violence of the Ministry of Justice.
The autonomous communities with the highest number of female victims were Andalucía (7,417), Comunitat Valenciana (5,007) and Comunidad de Madrid (3,062).

However, the highest rates of cases of gender violence per 1,000 women over 13 years of age were registered in Melilla (3.7), La Rioja (2.6) and Illes Balears (2.3).
On the other hand, a total of 33,209 men were denounced last year for gender violence and a protection order or precautionary measures were issued against them, which represents 10.5% more than in 2021.
Almost two out of three of these men, 63%, were born in Spain.
The precautionary measures issued increase by 5%
Regarding the precautionary measures issued in 2022 for gender violence, the total was 97,616, 4.9% more than the previous year. The majority, 73%, were of a criminal nature, while 26.9% were of a civil nature.
Thus, the most frequent criminal precautionary measures were the prohibition to approach certain people (36.6% of the total), the prohibition to communicate with certain people (36.1%) and provisional release (14.4%).
Among the civil precautionary measures, the most issued were the determination of the maintenance regime (27.6% of the total), the determination of the custody regime (27.1%) and the determination of the visiting regime (12.9 %).

Regarding domestic violence -which can be carried out by both men and women against family members, with the exception of their partner or ex-partner-, last year there were 8,151 victims with a protection order or precautionary measures, 1.1% less than in 2021.
Of these, 60.7% were women and 39.3% men.
Considering the type of relationship between the victim and the accused, in 37% of the cases the victims were the father or the mother, in 26.7% the children and in 9.4% the siblings.
As for those reported, in 2022 6,813 were registered, 28.8% more than in the previous year. The majority were men (72.6%), while 27.4% were women.
Thus, a total of 16,539 precautionary measures were issued for domestic violence, which represented an increase of 30.5% compared to 2021. 72.7% of these measures fell on men and 27.3% on women.
