Madrid (EFE).- Eleven autonomous communities are under yellow warning this Wednesday due to meteorological risk due to strong storms with hail and rains of up to 20 liters per square meter in one hour in much of the eastern and northwestern extreme of the country.
As announced on its website by the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet), the following will be on alert from 12 noon today: Aragon, the Balearic Islands, both Castillas, Catalonia, Galicia, Murcia, Navarra, the Basque Country, La Rioja and the Valencian Community .
In Aragon, rains of up to 20 liters per square meter are forecast in one hour and possible hail throughout the community, and also in the Balearic Islands on the islands of Mallorca and Menorca.
In Castilla y León, rainfall of 15 liters per square meter is expected in one hour in a large part of the community and up to 20 liters per square meter specifically in Zamora and Valladolid.
Widespread showers in the afternoon
20 liters per square meter and possible hail will also accumulate in one hour in Castilla-La Mancha, in the provinces of Guadalajara and Cuenca, and also in the Valencian Community.
In Catalonia, rainfall of 20 liters per square meter is expected in one hour in Barcelona, Lleida and Girona, as well as hail.
In the Galician provinces of Lugo, Ourense and Pontevedra, rainfall accumulations will reach 15 liters per square meter in one hour, with the possibility of hail, and also in Navarra.
In the Murcia region, possibly 20 liters per square meter will be collected in one hour, according to Aemet.
In the Basque Country, the forecast is 15 liters per square meter in one hour in the province of Álava, and 20 liters per square meter in La Rioja, on the banks of the Ebro.
