València (EFE).- The turnaround in the city of Valencia in these municipal elections is confirmed with 57 percent of the votes counted, since the right-wing bloc continues adding the 17 councilors that represent the absolute majority, one more than the block on the left, which has 16 councilors.
The candidacy headed for the second time by María José Catalá becomes the most voted and climbs from the 8 current councilors to 13, while Vox, which came to the Valencian chamber four years ago, rises from 2 to 4 councilors, with which they absorb the councilors of Ciudadanos, which had 6 seats and now disappears.
For his part, the mayor since 2015, Joan Ribó (Compromís), could not repeat at the head of the third city in Spain for the third consecutive term, since his 9 councilors (lost one) and the 7 of the Socialists (one less also ) add up to 16 councillors, one below the absolute majority.
For the third consecutive municipal elections, the difference between the two ideological blocks is that of a single mayor, although this time the balance has fallen on the conservative side.
