Madrid (EFE).- Isabel Díaz Ayuso has increased the number of seats won in the regional elections of this 28M to 71 with close to 98% of the votes counted, six seats more than those she achieved in the early elections held in May 2021.
More Madrid has revalidated its “sorpasso” to the PSOE, despite the fact that Juan Lobato’s Socialists have led the opposition leadership during almost the entire scrutiny.
Although Mónica García’s formation is ahead of Lobato’s in percentage of votes, they tie again in seats, 27 (in 2021 both parties had 24 parliamentarians).
Vox, with Rocío Monasterio, achieves 10 seats in the regional Assembly, and Podemos disappears.
In the 2021 elections, Ayuso won 65 seats, insufficient to govern alone, while Más Madrid was the second force with 24 seats, followed by PSOE (also with 24 parliamentarians, but fewer votes); Vox achieved 13 deputies and Podemos 10.
The left does not stop Ayuso
The candidates of Más Madrid for the Presidency of the region and the Mayor’s Office of the capital, Mónica García and Rita Maestre, respectively, have recognized this Sunday that it is “a difficult day”, but they have celebrated, at the same time, that their political formation It has been consolidated this May 28 as the “alternative” to the PP.
The socialist candidate for Puerta del Sol, Juan Lobato, has recognized, after the absolute majority achieved by the PP, that “no force” has had the capacity to stop Ayuso”, whom he invites to exercise his majority with “respect, education and democratically.
The Podemos-IU-AV candidate, Alejandra Jacinto, has called for the “unity of the progressive forces” after the “poor results” that the “block, as a whole”, has obtained in the 28M elections.
