Melilla (EFE).- Several applicants for voting by mail in Melilla have been detected when they tried to vote in person at the ballot box, some of them providing a false document, something that is not possible and of which “note is being taken to act accordingly ”, according to the government delegate, Sabrina Moh.
In statements to journalists, Sabrina Moh has not specified the number of people who could have tried to vote in a ballot box having requested the vote by mail or the places, since “it is too early” to be able to offer data in this regard.
Yes, he has pointed out that it is not “alarming data” but he has justified the need to “take measures immediately at the moment in which there is a small indication of anything that could alter the normal functioning”, which is what has been done now with this “notice”.
“It was one of the scenarios that were considered”
He has stated that this was “one of the scenarios being considered” when designing the device for 28M and it has not caught them by surprise, but he has insisted on making it clear that it is not possible to vote in person at the electoral college when a vote by mail had already been requested.
For this reason, he has demanded “to have special attention and care so that none of these votes can enter” the ballot box.
“This message is very clear. Those who requested the vote by mail and have not materialized cannot do so today at the ballot box,” Moh stressed before underlining the “important coordination” that exists so that this does not happen “and to be able to ensure exemplary elections.”
Likewise, it has indicated that the Zone Electoral Board (JEZ) has warned about these attempts to vote, clarifying that the face-to-face vote of any of the 11,707 applicants for voting by mail in Melilla should not be allowed, even if they provide some document to supporting document, as has happened in some cases this election Sunday.
E has been able to witness how members of the Zone Electoral Board (JEZ) have gone to the CEIP León Solá, an electoral college located in the Cañada de Hidum, after one of the applicants for voting by mail has voted in a ballot box, to remind the members of the different tables that the voters collected in the census with a ‘C’ cannot vote in a ballot box.
