Logroño, (EFE).- A man accused of allegedly distributing child pornography files from his home in Logroño, for which the prosecutor requests 9 years in prison, has pleaded not guilty and has insisted that the material was not his and that it was downloaded to their devices automatically when adult sex files were downloaded.
The Provincial Court of Logroño has initiated this Wednesday the trial against this man, of Brazilian origin, accused of being the alleged perpetrator of a crime of possession and distribution of child pornography through the Internet, for sharing 1,477 files through WhatsApp and Facebook of minors in acts of a sexual nature.
The police investigations began in 2018, after a notice from the National Center for Exploited and Disappeared Children, an NGO linked to the United States Government, with which internet operators collaborate when they detect a possible case of pedophilia.
According to the prosecutor’s indictment, after this notice, those files were “followed” to an address in Logroño, from which the accused had allegedly uploaded image and video files to an internet platform with children who carried out acts of sexual content. .
On their computer devices they found 254 videos in which three appeared with minor girls “violent and sexually harassed”; and in one of the accused’s pants there was a card with deleted video files, where 73 victims located in Brazil were identified.
The defendant, during his statement, has denied that he was the owner of the cell phones with which this material was distributed “and I don’t know why they are in my name,” he said.
It has affected that the memory card found in a pair of pants had been found in a call shop and “what I saw in it was adult pornography”, so he kept it, “although I shouldn’t have done it, I put the paw”.
He has also reported that one of the days in which, according to the investigators, he distributed pedophilic files on a platform, he was in jail for allegedly harassing some minor girls, in a case that was filed.
