Madrid (EFE).- The Council of Ministers will authorize this Tuesday the creation of a line of guarantees from the Official Credit Institute (ICO) that covers up to 20% of the mortgages of families with dependent children and young people up to 35 years, together with other measures already announced to promote the promotion of more than 60,000 flats with which to expand the public park.
The new line of the ICO, advanced by the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, last weekend at a meeting in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, is intended for applicants with incomes of less than 37,800 euros per year and could benefit some 50,000 people. according to the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda (Mitma).
The Council of Ministers will also authorize Mitma to sign a new agreement to create another ICO line with 4,000 million euros from European funds to finance actions to promote some 43,000 affordable rental homes, through the construction and rehabilitation of buildings.
It will also give the go-ahead to the plan to promote 20,000 homes on Ministry of Defense land through Sepes, in addition to the construction of another 15,957 already underway, for which this public company has a budget of 375 million euros.
With tomorrow’s agreements, the Government assures that it will have put 68,000 homes into operation, including those signed, those that are in the development process and those already inhabited.
The Government today approves another 560 million euros for public education
The Council of Ministers will approve today Tuesday 560 million euros destined to train 5.5 million primary and secondary students in robotics and programming, to reinforce students with difficulties and to help young people in vulnerable situations to buy school supplies .
On May 3, the cabinet of Pedro Sánchez approved in Council another investment worth 1,307 million euros for different actions in the field of Vocational Training, including the creation of almost 45,000 bilingual places.
The announcement of the 560 million euros to consolidate public education was made by the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, last Friday at a PSOE rally in Alicante, in the auditorium of the University.
There he explained that this money will help the 5.5 million primary and secondary students “learn the language of machines, programming and robotics, because it is the world in which they are going to live.”
“Also -he said- to reinforce the classes of boys and girls with difficulties, to prevent them from dropping out, and so that half a million students can benefit from the purchase of school supplies and books.”
Among the novelties of the 2022-23 academic year is the introduction of the School Code Plan 4.0 with which the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training intends to end the deficiencies in digital skills of Spanish students.
This program also seeks to promote interest in STEM disciplines (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics), contributing from training to reducing the gender gap in the digital field.
School Code 4.0 is endowed with an investment of 300 million euros in the General State Budget in 2023 and another 60 million in 2024.
