Madrid (EFE).- Radiotelevisión Española will broadcast five debates before the elections on May 28, three municipal ones with the candidates for the mayoralty of Barcelona, Valencia and Seville, and two with the parties that choose to govern in the Canary Islands and the Community of Madrid, although the Madrid president, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, will not be in the latter.
Alfonso Serrano will go to the debate instead of Ayuso
As reported by the corporation, the number two on the list of the Madrid PP, Alfonso Serrano, will be the one who defends the popular candidacy and the one who faces Mónica García (Más Madrid), Juan Lobato (PSOE-M), Rocío Monasterio (Vox) and Alejandra Jacinto (Podemos-IU-Alianza Verde).
This debate will take place on Wednesday, May 24, just before the elections, and will be broadcast at 10:35 p.m. on La 1 in Madrid, Canal 24 Horas, Radio 5, RTVE.es and RTVE Play.
It will be presented by Xabier Fortes, preceded by a special of ‘The Night in 24 Hours’.
As for the rest of the debates, the first of them will take place tomorrow with the candidates for Barcelona City Council: Ernest Maragall (ERC), Ada Colau (BComú), Jaume Collboni (PSC), Xavier Trias (TriasxBCN), Anna Grau (Cs ), Daniel Sirera (PP) and Eva Parera (Valents).
It will be broadcast at 10:35 p.m. on La 1 in Catalonia, Canal 24 Horas, Radio 5, Ràdio 4, RTVE.es and RTVE Play, presented by Gemma Nierga and Quim Barnola. As in the previous case, ‘La Noche en 24 Horas’ will carry out a previous program.
The Valencia municipal debate will be held on Wednesday, May 17, with the participation of Joan Ribó (Compromise), María José Catalá (PP), Sandra Gómez (PSPV-PSOE), Fernando Giner (Ciudadanos), Juan Manuel Badenas (Vox).
It will be broadcast from 10:35 p.m. on La 1 in the Valencian Community, Canal 24 Horas, Radio 5, RTVE.es and RTVE Play, presented by Imma Canet, and will be preceded by a special.
Debates in Andalusia and the Canary Islands
The third debate at the municipal level, with the candidates for Seville City Council, will face Antonio Muñoz (PSOE), José Luis Sanz (PP), Susana Hornillo (Con Andalucía), Miguel Angel Aumesquet (Ciudadanos), Cristina Peláez (Vox) and Sandra Heredia (Forward Sevilla).
It will begin at 10:15 p.m. on La 1 in Andalucía, Canal 24 horas, Radio 5, RTVE.es and RTVE Play, hosted by Paloma Jara, and will also feature a previous special on ‘La Noche en 24 Horas’.
The debates are completed with the one that will bring together the parties that aspire to govern the Canary Islands, where Ángel Víctor Torres (PSOE), Fernando Clavijo (CC), Manuel Domínguez (PP), Román Rodríguez (NC), Noemí Santana (USP) and Casimiro Curbelo (ASG).
It will begin at 10:30 p.m. (peninsular time) and can be followed on La 1 for the Canary Islands, Canal 24 Horas, Radio 5, RTVE.es and RTVE Play, presented by Fátima Hernández and Marta Modino. As in every appointment, there will be a preview of ‘The Night in 24 Hours’.
