As indicated by the company in a press release, the television audience of the show held at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico in San Juan obtained an increase of 28% against the record it set in 2022.
Likewise, the show marked the highest number of ticket sales -17,944- for a WWE event held in Puerto Rico and for a live “Backlash” show on the island.
Even more than 40 million people watched the street fight between Bad Bunny and Damien Priest through the networks, WWE added in the statement.
Additionally, the hashtag #WWEBacklash, accompanied by a Bad Bunny emoji, was trending #1 across all sports on Saturday night.
The other time WWE organized a “Backlash” in Puerto Rico was in 2005.
Prior to the “Backlash” on Saturday, WWE held the “SmackDown” event on Friday at the same San Juan Coliseum, which was attended by 16,896 people.
Another record that “Backlash” broke was that of merchandise sold with shirts from the same and LWO Puerto Rico, being LWO Latino World Order, and income from sponsorship by obtaining a 98% increase in sales that it achieved last year.
WWE achieved this by partnering with the Fanatics company, the Netflix series “Fubar”, Mike’s Harder Lemonade and Xfinity.
