Las Palmas De Gran Canaria (EFE).- The PP candidate for the Presidency of the Canary Islands, Manuel Domínguez, has proposed this Sunday to reduce the tax burden on Canarian families with measures such as the extension of the personal income tax deduction for birth or adoption in the first three years or the deduction of 25% of Social Security contributions for hiring childcare workers.
In a statement, Domínguez has announced that, if elected, there will be “fairer taxation” for families in order to reduce their tax burden “so that their disposable family income grows and encourage their capacity to consume, save and invest” .
The popular candidate has referred to a strategy to support families “that is committed to reconciling family and work and meets the needs of children.”
“Canarian families may deduct 25% of Social Security contributions for hiring caregivers for children under three years of age and also for the care of elderly people in a situation of dependency and people with some type of recognized disability, with a limit of 450 euros per year and, in the case of large families, the deduction will be increased to 40% with a limit of 600 euros” explained Domínguez.
In this sense, the popular candidate has highlighted the important role that, in his opinion, families have “for the social and affective development of the human being” for which he has considered it necessary “to address in an integrated way the needs that currently exist in the Canarian society and that take into account their different circumstances”.
With regard to support measures for maternity, he said that aid for training and continuation of studies would be allocated to women who want to be mothers, especially the youngest; the flexibility of schedules in educational centers, or study and training scholarships for young mothers without financial and/or family support.
Likewise, the age to be able to access assisted fertility treatments will be extended to 45 years and large families in the special category will be exempted from paying the regional income tax fee for three years, “those in the general category will pay only half ”, has concluded the PP. EFE
