The 112 Emergency Service of the Government of Cantabria has received the notice around 4:00 p.m. of the truck fire at kilometer 264 of the A-8.
The fire has mainly affected the rear trailer of the two carrying the trailer, in which there were five vehicles, although one of the front cars has also been damaged.
In the incident, firefighters from the regional emergency service based in Valdáliga, firefighters from Torrelavega, agents of the Civil Guard and road maintenance have been mobilized.
Upon arrival, the 112 troops have focused their work on cutting the spread of the horizontal to prevent more vehicles from being affected and the flames from reaching the vegetation on the sides of the road.
After assessing the situation, they requested the intervention of the Torrelavega firefighters to carry out water supply work.
After the flames were extinguished, the troops covered the cars with a foam mattress to prevent hidden hot spots from reigniting the fire.
The highway has been reopened, with one lane cut, around six in the afternoon.
