The announcement was made this Thursday by the Minister of the Presidency, Laura Vilagrà, who was accompanied by the Secretary of Administration and Public Function, Alícia Corral, after meeting for the second consecutive afternoon with union representatives from the CCOO, UGT and IAC-STAC at the Palace of the Generalitat.
Serious incidents in 99.7% of the processes
After opening a web space on Monday so that opponents could share information about the incidents that occurred on Saturday, the Generalitat of Catalonia has received 3,069 forms until 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, referring to 10,120 complaints.
In 67 of the 72 processes, incidents have been detected that imply their nullity: the applicants for these processes, interested in occupying 1,815 positions, were 12,965, that is, 99.7% of the total.
Termination of the contract with Cegos
The logistics of the tests, outsourced for the first time, were entrusted to the company Cegos, to whom the Catalan government awarded a contract until the year 2024 for an amount of 1.4 million.
Vilagrà has said that no invoice had yet been paid to the company and that the Generalitat will terminate the aforementioned contract, while studying to take further action against Cegos.
It has also announced that all opponents who participated in the tests will be financially compensated, although it has not yet specified the amount to be paid or when the payment will be made.
The consellera has remarked that another 32 opposition processes for interim that Saturday, in which 2,641 people participated, competing for 383 places, have been valid and will not be repeated, since in that case the organization was carried out by different ministries.
Exams in July
The tests will be repeated in two phases and only those who were summoned to the tests on Saturday will be able to attend.
On July 1, 3,695 interim (aspirants to rural agents, law, criminal enforcement and labor personnel) will be called to take the tests and on July 8, 9,886 (aspirants to civil servant bodies).
The unions, which had asked to avoid repeating tests if it was not strictly necessary, have celebrated the speed with which a response to what happened on Saturday has been given and have refused to criticize the ministry again.
political responsibilities
The Generalitat argues that the outsourcing made sense because 72 different tests were carried out at the same time, but now, given what happened, it affirms that the process will be assumed by the administration itself.
The episode has led to the dismissal of the Director General of the Civil Service, Marta Martorell, and there are no further dismissals. The Minister Laura Vilagrà will appear tomorrow Friday from 10.30 am in Parliament to report on this crisis.
These oppositions for interims are framed by the objective of reducing the number of interims to 8%, compared to the current 35%.
