Helsinki (EFE).- The President of Ukraine, Volodímir Zelenski, arrived this Wednesday in Helsinki, on an official visit during which he plans to meet in the Finnish capital with the country’s president, Sauli Niinistö, and the prime ministers of the countries nordic.
Zelensky’s visit comes just weeks after Finland’s formal entry into NATO, a move prompted by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and as the Nordic country tightens its border with Russia.
Both presidents are scheduled to appear before the press at 10:00 GMT.
In the afternoon, Zelenski will meet with the heads of government of Sweden, Ulf Kristersson, of Norway, Jonas Gahr Støre, of Denmark, Mette Frederiksen and of Iceland, Katrín Jakobsdóttir, with whom he will offer a joint press conference.
Acting Finnish Prime Minister Sanna Marin is also scheduled to attend that meeting.
