Guatemala City, (EFE).- The EFE Agency celebrates this Wednesday in Guatemala half a century of presence in Central America, an anniversary that the first news agency in Spanish commemorates with the inauguration of a photographic exhibition that summarizes 50 years of images that narrated news of the region to the world.
The exhibition “Central America, 50 years in 50 images”, organized with the support of the Embassy of Spain in Guatemala, will be open to the public from today until July 1 at the Cultural Center of Spain, located in the heart of the capital.
The inauguration will be attended by the Spanish ambassador, José María Laviña; the Director of Strategy of EFE, Soledad Álvarez, and the Secretary of Social Communication of the Presidency of Guatemala, Kevin López.
This photographic account, documented from 1970 to the present by EFE photographers, covers the most important events that marked the recent history of the region.
The exhibition reviews topics such as biodiversity, culture, traditions, sports, and relevant social and political events in all the countries of the isthmus.
The commemorative events have the support of Coca-Cola, the Ficohsa bank, the Cervecería Centro Americana and the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI), as well as Iberia and Barceló Hotels.
Forum on inclusion
The event, which will be attended by Guatemalan political and journalistic personalities, will be preceded by a debate on the importance of the inclusion of women in Central America, both in public life, in business or in journalism.
The forum will have representatives of regional organizations, experts and businesswomen to discuss effective inclusion initiatives in Guatemala.
In this space, the importance of incorporating women into positions of responsibility and decision-making at all levels will be discussed.
