Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Apr 30 (EFE) The only guarantee that there will be a pact for progress on the islands again is Podemos.
Belarra has also referred to the difficulty of accessing a home, and has said that his party will prohibit non-residents in the Canary Islands from buying one while the canaries do not have one.
On the new Housing Law, he stressed that the PSOE has been part of the political consensus “of the hit on housing, of speculation, that prices will never go down” for decades, and if the rule has been approved, it has been thanks to pressure from his party.
“There has never been a housing law when the PSOE has governed alone”, this is the first in the history of Spain and “in Podemos we are very proud to have achieved it”, Belarra highlighted this Sunday at an act of his party in The Gran Canarian palms.
In his opinion, “the PSOE is an essentially conservative force, it preserves what is there, makes some tweaks, but does not transform or make structural changes.”
For Belarra, “housing has been the great Spanish business” and there is nothing that distinguishes people more than the fact that they can access one financially or not, so there is a great distance “between rentiers and those who They can’t pay rent.”
He considers that “rent is a pump to extract income from the working classes” and that situation must change.
That is why he believes it is necessary for Podemos to achieve a good result in the next elections, because, according to Belarra, only his representatives will ensure that the Housing Law is complied with.
“The only way to regulate rental prices and tourist apartments will be for Podemos to form part of the Government,” its leader assured.
“Podemos has the courage to withstand harassment and media pressure to defend the changes”, he said, “we are not afraid, we advance without fear and we win rights”.
In addition to being the only transformative force, “we will not agree with the right,” the leader of Podemos has assured.
In his opinion, “the objective of this electoral campaign is for Podemos to disappear”, because it achieves what others consider impossible, “they need us to disappear, but we stood up and we are not going to kneel again.”
Belarra has also referred to the PP, “they are the worst right wing in Europe, they are coup plotters”, as they have demonstrated in their attempt to control the Constitutional Court and the General Council of the Judiciary “to protect the corrupt”.
And he has criticized the leader of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijoó, “whose sole intention in reforming the Solo Yes Law is to break the Government.” EFE
