Mérida (EFE) reckless driving and another for driving without a permit.
The events took place last December 2022, when the agents were carrying out a road safety device on the EX-A1 motorway and a car was detected by radar when it was driving at 170 km/h, on a section of road in which the maximum speed allowed is 120.
The investigated, upon noticing the presence of the agents on the road, abruptly changed the direction of traffic on the same road and began to do so in the opposite direction, the Civil Guard reported this Sunday in a statement.
At that moment, the agents established a device to try to stop him, but the driver left the road at an undetermined place.
Recorded by another driver
Another road user recorded the driver just as he was passed by him at high speed thanks to a camera in his vehicle.
The collaboration of this user has been decisive in clarifying the facts, having provided proof of the commission of the criminal act to the investigation.
Within the framework of the so-called Techonegro operation, the agents used the recording to initially identify the vehicle and continued the investigation until they found out the identity of the person who was driving it, a 36-year-old man.
Two other investigated
Likewise, the owner of the vehicle has also been brought to justice as a necessary cooperator in the crime of driving without a permit, attributed to the driver, since at the time of the events he was the co-driver.
The investigators analyzed different documents related to the vehicle and determined that they had been falsified to allow its circulation.
These falsifications have resulted in the investigation of a woman for a crime of documentary falsification related to the preparation of the vehicle’s transmission documentation and its subsequent presentation before the Provincial Traffic Headquarters of Cáceres.
These three people have been made available to the Court of First Instance and Instruction, acting as a Guard, of Navalmoral de la Mata (Cáceres).
